Recently, I have attended multiple beauty events including, a Nars Masterclass, dinner with Note Cosmetics and the Kiss Summer Party, so obviously I have built up my make-up collection and inspiration.
At the Nars Masterclass, make-up artist, John Bowes, made a comment which gave me a sigh of relief – “make-up is going backwards again and stripping back the layers.” Instead of heavy foundation, layers of contour products and overly filled in, structured brows, more and more consumers are asking artists to create lighter, more natural make-up looks.
I created this summery look, inspired by the Nars Masterclass, using some of my new favourite products, including pieces from Nars, Elf and Note.
The Low Down
Start off with a fresh face; your cleanser and moisturiser should be the only products used previously.
Apply Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter to areas the sun naturally highlights – top of cheeks, nose, forehead and a little on the chin.
Blend Primark’s My Perfect Colour Foundation to evenly cover the face, adding Revolution Concealer to brighten under the eyes. Powder oily areas with Air Brush powder.
Using a contour brush, lightly sweep Nars Laguna bronzer to define your cheekbones, before adding Elf bronzer to warm up your skin.
Highlight the areas you had applied the CT Flawless Filter with the Milani highlighter.
On the apples of your cheeks, blend a very light amount of the Nars Orgasm blusher.
Shape your eyebrows with Elf’s wax and powder duo.
Using the lighter pink in the Nars blusher duo, cover your eyelid using the E13 Morphe brush and blend the darker colour into the outer corners with a blending brush.
Follow the eyeshadow application with Elf eyeliner, creating a feline flick and finish the eyes by coating the lashes with Note Lash Code Mascara.
Define your lip shape with Mac Whirl lipliner, followed by Note Tan lipstick and a summery sheen with Note lipgloss.
Et Voila, a summer make up look using some of my current favourite products.
Hope you enjoyed!
