Trying new make-up comes with a roller coaster of emotions. Bit dramatic, Katie? Yes maybe, but think about it. You’re excited to try a new brand, nervous in case you don’t like it, happy when you love it or sad when you’re not a fan. So, what did I think of the George at Asda make-up range in collaboration with Georgia May Foote?
The Products
I chose to create the ‘Bold Lip’ look from the range. Unfortunately, make-up is not available on George at Asda’s website. Their larger stores usually stock make-up!
Airbrush Primer – Love love love this product. It does exactly what it says on the tin (or in this case, tube). The tiniest blob of primer is needed to massage into your face, blurring any fine lines and pores before applying foundation. 10/10
Lightweight Natural Radiance Foundation – A.D.O.R.E. I’ve been telling everyone about this foundation! It’s a hidden gem and I’m hoping more people buy it! It’s perfect used alone for work. For nights out I mix it with my Milani foundation for added coverage. 10/10
Contour Kit – Yes, contour kits are still out and about! I really liked the George at Asda one! The dark brown contour didn’t look dirty like some contour kits. The bronzer was a really nice shade of tan and the highlighter was subtle but still gave a glowy sheen. 8/10
Va Va Volume Mascara – I have been using this mascara everyday for work! I love how it truly lengthens my lashes and doesn’t look clumpy. I wouldn’t wear it for nights out or photoshoots because it’s quite light. 8/10
Matte Lip in Cappuccino – If you suffer from dry, cracked lips, I wouldn’t recommend this. Matte Lip products that aren’t drying are hard to come by! The colour of this lip product is intense so I’d suggest wearing it with a smokey eye because without eyeliner, it drained me out. 5/10
How I Used Them
Start with a fresh, clean face and apply the Airbrush Primer.
Blend your foundation into the skin, set with AirSpun and begin to contour.
Apply bronzer to warm up your face. Next, blend your highlighter in the areas where the sun hits off to create a gorgeous glow.
Sculpt your brows.
Mascara time! As you can see, the mascara lengthens my lashes and gives a little bit of volume.
I would advice putting some Vaseline or Carmex on before the lip product to ensure it doesn’t dry your lips out throughout the day. Works a treat!
And there you have it. A full face of George at Asda make up!
Final Thoughts
For a supermarket make-up range, I think it’s very impressive. I would definitely buy the primer and foundation when these tubes run out! I’d definitely recommend trying the products if you’re interested in finding out for yourself; they’re priced extremely reasonably so there’s nothing (apart from a few pound coins) to lose.
